Week 1 · Sunday, November 1 · 8:00 p.m. EST

Application map and work plan

Review the student’s college list, deadlines, application platforms, and prompt inventory. Build a workable calendar and identify the writing tasks that need attention first.

Week 2 · Sunday, November 8 · 8:00 p.m. EST

Personal statement: idea and structure

Explore possible topics, identify the student’s own point of view, and shape an essay structure that gives a reader a clear sense of the person behind the application.

Week 3 · Sunday, November 15 · 8:00 p.m. EST

Personal statement: drafting and revision

Work through draft development, scene and detail, voice, focus, and revision choices. Students leave with concrete next steps for a complete personal statement draft.

Week 4 · Sunday, November 22 · 8:00 p.m. EST

Activities, honors, and additional context

Choose and prioritize activities and honors, make concise descriptions more specific, and decide what context belongs in additional information sections.

Week 5 · Sunday, November 29 · 8:00 p.m. EST

School-specific supplements

Read prompts closely, connect each response to the student’s experience and school research, and plan or draft supplemental essays across the student’s list.

Week 6 · Sunday, December 6 · 8:00 p.m. EST

Supplement workshop and submission plan

Workshop supplement drafts, check that each response answers its prompt in the student’s own voice, and make a final timeline for completing and submitting applications.
